CONGRATULATIONS!! You made it to the last day of school!!
This was certainly a school year of unexpected twists and turns. We had no idea that March 13 would be the last day that we would see each other at school. So many of your teachers told me, “I wish I had known that was the last day I would have seen my kiddos. I would have said goodbye much differently”.
We have truly missed you!
If you just finished the year as a 6th or 7th grader, we look forward to seeing you again when we return to school. You will get to meet your new teachers and see old friends right back here at LMMS in your next grade. We can’t wait to see you!!
If you are an 8th grade student, this is a time for bitter/sweet celebration as you get ready to enter high school! Everything you learned since kindergarten was in preparation for this day. Your true performance begins on the first day of school, and I know you are READY. Along with all the fun of high school, remember, this is where all of that studying you did gets to pay off. Your Grade Point Average (GPA) starts on the first day of your freshmen year and your classes are only 18 weeks long. You don’t have time to procrastinate with your work. Get organized, do your best work (and turn it in!), and be confident in your abilities. There will be classes and situations that really make you struggle, that’s ok, life has struggles. It’s how you manage the difficult times, that builds your true character. Your parents and your teachers have helped you form the foundation of everything you need to be successful. Now it’s your turn to show off what you can do!
This year ended without the events you would have experienced if this had been a “normal” year in middle school, BUT you are about to begin high school and take part in all the amazing experiences there! Friday night football games, marching band, drama productions, dances, first dates, and oh yeah, your driver’s license! Learn, Live, and Love your Life! You are amazing!
For all our LMMS students, parents, and teachers, I pray that your summer is filled with laughter and joy. We have been given a true gift in getting to know our families again. Rest, read, play and enjoy each other.
Until we meet again,
Dr. Nyeste
